Enjoy a unique west coast adventure at Desolation Sound Resort. Listed in the" Northwest Best Places" guide book, Desolation Sound Resort is located at the upper end of the Sunshine Coast  British Columbia. You can get to us by car from Vancouver . It is about a five hour trip from the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal in Vancouver to us. The closest towns to us are Lund and Powell River. We are located at the end of highway 101 , there where civilization ends and the wilderness begins.

Spread over seven wooded acres, Desolation Sound Resort offers twelve spacious, fully furnished oceanfront chalets for your vacation enjoyment. Overlooking Okeover Inlet, these chalets are perched on a hillside surrounded by tall cedars and firs.

Some of our chalets have private hot tubs on the decks. What better way to relax after a day of kayaking, boating or hiking! Each of the units is constructed with native wood and local craftsmen have lent their talents to creating custom designs with a west coast flair. Many of the chalets reflects these talents in the intricate wood designs inlaid on the walls and floors. These chalets are of varying sizes and some can accommodate up to 8 persons.

There are various options to explore Desolation Sound. We have complimentary kayaks and canoes for our guest to use. Our office personal can arrange boat charters, fishing tours, guided kayaking trips, power boat rentals and hiking tours with the various outdoor outfitters.
